Rep. Cloud to Newsmax: Time to Sunset Fauci’s Science

Rep. Michael Cloud, R-Texas, told Newsmax on Monday he finds it “unbelievable” that the offerings from Anthony Fauci are still accepted as science despite the fact that millions died on his watch during the COVID pandemic.

Cloud is a member of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, and he joined “Rob Schmitt Tonight” to discuss Day 1 of the panel’s interview with Fauci, the former longtime director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

“One of the questions was asked about, you know, money going to China to support labs and research and whether the ROI was there; does the good outweigh the bad? And you know, he’s thinking, ‘Well, you know, maybe so there’s some good stuff in it,'” Cloud told Schmitt. “But at what point is there enough good to overdo the fact that millions of people have died at the hands of what happened here? It’s just beyond me the fact that we continue to let this kind of thing go as science. I mean, it’s unbelievable.”

Cloud said Fauci had an interesting take on what to do on the lessons learned from mistakes he might have made during the pandemic.

“His solution is to give the people who made the mistakes more power, whether that be in our government or the WHO [World Health Organization]; the people who misled America and were wrong on the science, we’re supposed to give them more power to do the same thing,” Cloud said.

Fauci is scheduled to appear before the panel again Tuesday.
