Legendary TV host Bill O’Reilly told Newsmax on Tuesday that Americans definitively rejecting the far-left progressive’s cultural agenda is a “matter of when, not if.”
During an appearance on “Eric Bolling The Balance,” the best-selling author and host of “No Spin News” argued that there are enough Americans waking up to the unpopular social agenda pushed by far-left activists, which includes child participation in drag shows.
“Our traditions are under siege because the progressive far-left wants to wipe them out much like the Great Revolution that Mao Zedong brought upon China,” O’Reilly said. “All Chinese traditions were wiped out by the communist, Mao. That’s the same mindset that’s in play in America.
“But I don’t think that’s the majority of the country … I don’t think the majority supports that. I think that they’re angry about it, and I think the progressive leftists who do foster that upon children, in particular, are going to get destroyed.”
O’Reilly also said that a critical feature of the left’s current success is the compliance and support of the mainstream media, something which has grown increasingly apparent in the past decade.
“The difference is — because this has happened before. The press didn’t use to buy into this, and now it does,” O’Reilly said. “It enables and empowers the far-left zealots to come after school children or whoever it may be. They don’t condemn them.”
O’Reilly, a former Fox News host, also commented on recent developments regarding ex-colleagues Chris Wallace and Tucker Carlson. O’Reilly refused to criticize either but levied concerns at CNN’s decision to turn Wallace into a “celebrity.”
“Being famous — as in a position like Tucker Carlson for more than 20 years — makes you a target,” O’Reilly. “And you’ve got to know how to handle that, and it’s harrowing because people hate you in some cases. They want to hurt you.”
O’Reilly’s latest book in his highly regarded “Killing” series, “Killing the Legends: The Lethal Danger of Celebrity,” was released on Tuesday and is available for purchase online and at bookstores.
