Though Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema may not be a Republican, she’s shown an independent streak during her time in the Senate, letting Sen. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi know in no uncertain terms that she will play by her rules and not theirs when it comes to making policy decisions.
In addition to defying her party when the occasion calls for it, Sinema is also known for her unusual fashion sense, rejecting the unstated but typical blue/black button-up suit rules for more colorful ensembles, including wearing pink and purple wigs on the Senate floor.
Lest you think this post is about her fashion choices, that’s only part of it. Because it was her shirt selection on the day she presided over the Senate (today) that had people talking – and Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) ribbing her.
NBC News reporter Sahil Kapur was among the first to report on the pink “Dangerous Creature” shirt Sinema wore while presiding over the Senate:

There’s no question that it wasn’t a traditional look for a Senator, but it was a pretty cool shirt nevertheless:

That said, it was an interaction between Romney and Sinema during today’s proceedings that had people chuckling, particularly over her response and body language. As Romney was about to leave the floor, he walked up to Sinema as she was talking to someone else and joked about how she was “breaking the Internet”, presumably because of what she was wearing:

Video of their brief exchange, which was posted by C-SPAN’s Jeremy Art, showed Sinema responding by simply saying “good!” She then immediately and dismissively turned back to whoever it was she was talking to while Romney looked on for a couple of seconds before walking off, seemingly miffed:

Though her response to Romney was hilarious, much more important than what Sinema wore today and how she dismissed Romney in a matter of seconds is in how she continues to trigger Democrats by refusing to play their silly games.
Case in point: Her stance on abolishing the filibuster, which the radical left wanted to make a priority after Democrats took control of the Senate. Like her fellow Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin (WV), Sinema has made it clear that it’s not going to happen:

I may not agree with her on everything, but on this she’s right on target.
You go, girl.
