Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton Endorses Trump for President, ‘Everything Has Gone to Hell’ Under Biden – RedState

Former President Donald Trump picked up another big endorsement for his presidential bid Wednesday – Tom Cotton, the GOP junior senator from Arkansas.

Cotton posted his intentions on several social media sites, saying that America was doing so much better under Trump’s leadership than it is doing now under the disastrous reign of President Biden.

The tweet continued, saying things have gone to hell under Joe:

With Joe Biden as president, everything has gone to hell: families can’t afford groceries, our border is wide open to a full-blown invasion, and our enemies are starting wars everywhere. I endorse President Trump and I look forward to working with him to win back the White House and the Senate so we can help hardworking Arkansans suffering from Joe Biden’s disastrous policies. It’s time to get our country back on track.

Cotton previously worked with Trump on immigration issues, and although they didn’t accomplish all they wanted to, the senator hopes to work with him again on it should he be reelected:

In 2017, Trump championed legislation introduced by Cotton and then-Sen. David Perdue that called for a merit-based system that would significantly overhaul legal immigration in the United States by reducing the number of green cards issued from 1 million to 500,000 a year.

The bill — the Reforming American Immigration for a Strong Economy (RAISE) Act — worked to prioritize immigrants based on the skills they bring to the United States while also safeguarding the jobs of American workers.

The bill did not pass, but it was unveiled in a high-profile ceremony at the White House.

As we get closer to the primaries, more and more GOP senators are tipping their hats toward Trump. So far, Sens. JD Vance of Ohio, Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, Rick Scott of Florida, Josh Hawley and Eric Schmitt of Missouri, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, and others have signaled their support.

Meanwhile, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) endorsed Trump on Tuesday, as did House Speaker Mike Johnson and Texas Governor Greg Abbott in November. In all, the former commander-in-chief’s endorsement total now comes to seven governors, 18 Republican senators, and more than 90 House Republicans.

The race still has a long way to go, but Trump continues to dominate the GOP field in the polls and is picking up key endorsements. Add Tom Cotton to the list.
