We saw Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) pretending to be handcuffed during a protest outside the Supreme Court on Tuesday. They were not handcuffed despite their playacting which they both proved when they were able to raise their fists in the air.
Today, Rep. AOC was arrested along with other members of Congress outside the Supreme Court for protesting in support of abortion rights. #AbortionRightsAreHumanRights pic.twitter.com/gvj9J1o5ic

Some in the media still spread the claim even though Omar visibly raises her fist in the air.
Among many reports of multiple female Members of Congress include @ilhanmn being arrested this video has been posted on Facebook which shows a woman who appears to be Rep Omar in handcuffs pic.twitter.com/biXuYIjMFS

Not only weren’t they handcuffed, but they also weren’t even taken in to be processed. The members of Congress were all assembled nearby the protest area, police took their pictures and checked their IDs. The members of Congress didn’t even have to leave the area. And some even took selfies with the cops. Oh, the humanity!
Here’s where they’re being corralled. The group also includes the assistant House speaker, Katherine Clark. pic.twitter.com/2jNIRB2WtU

Talk about cushy treatment for a celebrity “arrest.”
But that didn’t stop AOC and her staff from trumpeting the arrest as though she were heading to Gitmo. Her response to people noting her pretending to be in handcuffs? She claimed it was a Republican conspiracy theory.
Lol… but @AOC, you literally faked it. You were not handcuffed. It’s on video. How stupid do you think people are? pic.twitter.com/fniBIG3qvU

No, AOC, it was all you and some of your buddies who thought it would add to the photo op.
She then claimed that she was doing it because that was the best practice when being arrested.
No faking here. Putting your hands behind your back is a best practice while detained, handcuffed or not, to avoid escalating charges like resisting arrest.
But given how you lied about a fellow rape survivor for “points,” as you put it to me, I don’t expect much else from you. pic.twitter.com/lUc1TPS21D

People who identified themselves as police officers then contested that claim on Twitter. What is true is that you should always keep your hands where the police can see them and not make any sudden moves or try to resist.
AOC attacked Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), who AOC doesn’t like because Mace pointed out there were no rioters near AOC’s office on Jan. 6, blowing up the image that AOC had been trying to present of what she experienced that day.
Correction: We made a total of 35 arrests for Crowding, Obstructing or Incommoding (DC Code § 22–1307).
That arrest number includes 17 Members of Congress.

The arrest? They were issued a ticket for blocking the street. They have to pay $50 or they can ask for a hearing to contest it.
But here was AOC kvelling about her “arrest paperwork” (the ticket).
Your “arrest paperwork” looks an awful lot like a simple citation for obstructing and a $50 fine.#AOCLovesAttention pic.twitter.com/XONmZCR06B

If there were an award for a drama queen, AOC definitely would win.
But Mace laid her out. Again.
Idk. Here you are @aoc breaking your fake handcuff pose for a good fist pump and shout out to the crowd – looking “tough”! Good theater though… 💪🤷🏻♀️🥂 https://t.co/0kfihuevYa pic.twitter.com/68rjopkdMi
