City of Orlando Trashes America in Fourth of July Message, Later Does a 180 in Ridiculous ‘Apology’ – RedState

We all know the drill. From liberal news outlets to public schools to politicians, municipalities, and beyond. A left-wing individual or entity says or does something that infuriates more people than said left-winger(s) believed would be the case, and subsequently releases a ridiculous apology, generally in direct conflict with the “transgression.” The below example is so upside-down oxymoronic; it’s laugh-out-loud hilarious.

Our story began on Friday, when the city of Orlando, Florida, said in a statement promoting its Fourth of July fireworks display that “a lot of people probably don’t want to celebrate our nation right now, and we can’t blame them,” as reported by Fox News. The city added:

When there is so much division, hate, and unrest, why on earth would you want to have a party celebrating any of it?

Mind-numbingly ignorant, purposely divisive, disingenuously pandering to the radical left, or all three? (Go with “all three.”) The statement continued:

But in all seriousness, you know in your heart, Fourth of July fireworks are amazing, especially when you are standing in 90° heat, 100% humidity, next to 100,000 of your closest friends.

In that moment, something takes over and we all become united in an inexplicable bond. Yes, America is in strife right now, but you know what…we already bought the fireworks.

How cute, right? The bad attempt at humor over trashing the country?

So who are these “a lot of people” who “don’t want to celebrate” America?

On the contrary, there are tens of millions of “a lot of people” who gratefully and graciously celebrate the Fourth of July in commemoration of the passage of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. They also celebrate the U.S. Constitution, its liberties; its rights; its protections, and its establishment of an independent judiciary, at the top of which sits the U.S. Supreme Court — the “supreme” arbiter of the Constitution and constitutional law.

Obviously, the America-loathing leftist(s) who penned Orlando’s attack against “all of the above” disagrees. That said, the city was immediately taken to task over the statement, as noted by Fox, including by the Orlando Fraternal Order of Police, who called the city’s statement “in poor taste.”

We do not share the same views as the City of Orlando and find their comments inflammatory and in poor taste.

Of course, the statement was inflammatory — purposely so.

Lo and behold, as I suggested at the top, the city promptly “apologized” for its “mistake.” As I also suggested, the (pretend) apology was laugh-out-loud hilarious in contrast to the city’s first statement.

The city of Orlando sincerely regrets the negative impact our words have had on some in our community. We understand these words offended some of our residents, which was not our intent. We value the freedoms we have in this country and are thankful to the men and women who fought and continue to fight for those. We take pride in celebrating the 4th of July to express our gratitude to those men and women and honor the country we live in.

Wait— wut?

Listen, I don’t want to “nitpick,” here, but everything in the bogus apology was mutually exclusive with the statement in which the City of Orlando suggested there is nothing “to celebrate [about] our nation right now” and how “we can’t blame them.”

Yup, after being forced by public opinion to pretend to apologize, the city “value(s) the freedoms we have in this country and [is] thankful to the men and women who fought and continue to fight” for America? And now, just like that, Orlando city officials “take pride in celebrating the Fourth of July”? In “gratitude”?

How can I put this tactfully?

What a complete crock of crap. They got called out for their blatant anti-Americanism, folded under pressure like a cheap suit, and issued an “apology” that they don’t believe any more than they believe Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is doing a hell of a job protecting Floridians from the likes of those who spewed the true sentiments of the apparent majority of Orlando officials in the original statement.

Incidentally, and not to be outdone, as RedState reported on Friday, the Pima County Democrat Party in Tucson, Arizona, on Friday posted on Twitter — then later deleted — a tweet promoting a “F*ck the 4th” event. The Tucson Women’s March “Let’s Mourn With F*ck the 4th” is apparently yet another protest in the aftermath of the Supreme Court overturn of Roe v. Wade.

The Republican Party of Arizona quickly responded:

Wow. Absolutely disgraceful rallying cry by @azdemparty “F*ck the 4th.” The Democrats aren’t even trying to hide the fact they are the party of radicals anymore.

Correct. Why should they try to hide the fact? Other than the fact that they’re going to get their asses handed to them in the November midterms, but the radical left remains clueless about their probable doom.

Predictably, as was the case with the city of Orlando, the Arizona Democrat Party then attempted to distance itself from the “F*ck the 4th” promotion by the Pima County Democrat Party.

The Arizona Democratic Party does not agree with the language used to publicize a 4th of July event happening in Tucson. We believe there can be room for both celebration and criticism. That is at the core of American freedom.

Uh-huh, sure they do.

As noted by Fox 10, the Arizona Democrat Party tweeted the following in response to the Roe overturn:

We are in solidarity with Arizonans who are grieving right now over the Supreme Court, the loss of freedom for many, and other political turmoil.

I’m never sure which is worse: the blatant hypocrisy or lack of conviction in sticking with true sentiments.
