It’s almost like hapless Secretary of State Antony Blinken continues to drop a yuuge pimp job on the American public — all the while gaining valuable experience for his next gig as a stand-up comic.
Case in point:
During a segment on Afghanistan’s 24-hour news channel, TOLO News — yeah, I know, right? — on Thursday, Blinken said, with a straight face (as if the guy is capable of facial expression, period), that he expects “the future government of Afghanistan” (Nonsense, Tony — Afghanistan is a country held hostage by a terrorist organization that will never be a legit “government) to uphold human rights. Yeah.
My hope — beyond hope — expectation is that the future government of Afghanistan will uphold basic rights. If it does, then that’s a government that we can work with. If it doesn’t, we won’t.
That statement is ignorant on so many levels, I don’t know where to begin.
Of course, the statement itself is ignorant — but even more ignorant is what led Blinken to make it. To think it. Assuming this guy has at least a modicum of intelligence, what the hell?
Unbelievable — but not.
What fact-based evidence exists — even a shred of evidence, or perhaps an “indication” — to suggest the most brutal terrorist organization on the face of the earth that apparently gets a kick out burning women alive and forcing 12-year-old girls into “marriage” gives a damn about human rights — basic or otherwise?
For those of you keeping score at home (and Blinken) the answer is ZERO. More than 20 years of zero.
And the other answer?
Blinken doesn’t believe a word of it. Neither does Biden, Lloyd Austin, Mark Milley, pathetic Jen Psaki, or any of the other hopelessly hapless clowns up to their lying eyes in this entire crock of crap.
So why are they pretending they believe it? Why do they continue to trot out in front of every TV camera they can find to fire up the exact same schtick, every time?
So that at the end of the disastrous day, after everything has gone to hell in a handbasket — just like we (and they) — knew it would, they can deflect, obfuscate, blame everyone and everything else (all of which was “totally out their control,” of course), or outright lie.
Sound familiar? It should.
It’s exactly what the Democrat Party and its sock puppets in the media have done for decades. If you’re surprised by any of this, you haven’t been paying attention. For a long time.
In related news —although, as my colleague Nick Arama reported Thursday morning, the Taliban finally allowed “200 Americans and other civilians” to leave Afghanistan from the Kabul Airport on Thursday on a flight to Qatar — White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki also on Thursday finally admitted that the Biden administration is not “close” to evacuating every American from Afghanistan, during a segment on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” with host Willie Geist.
The obfuscation and word manipulation of Ms. Psaki is a beautiful sight to behold.
Drips with integrity, doesn’t she?
Incidentally, as I reported earlier today, both Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Gen. Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, knew exactly what would happen if the U.S. precipitously withdrew from Aghanistan —months before Joe Biden pulled the disastrous trigger.
Who Knew? Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin: Al-Qaeda? Yeah, They’ll Probably Be Back, Too
